Ownen and his partner Rick are Colorado natives just trying to ski, fish and make good whiskey. They age the Rye for 2 years in 30 gallon barrels. Then aged it another 8 months with hand cut and charred aspen wood harvested from their families property outside of Fairplay. The Rye has some spicy peppery notes you would expect from rye but some really unique sweetness like light brown sugar, cinnamon and an herbal grail note that all comes from the aspen wood.
